About Us & Quyon

It was back in 1969, the year man first walked on the moon, when the McCann Family purchased a chip wagon business from Donald "Duck" Trudeau. Mr. Trudeau operated a french-fry business out of a milk/bread panel van converted to chip wagon which he parked on the very spot for several years, where McCann's Chips sits now.
Tasty french-fries were sold in the old fashioned cone-like cups to hungry patrons from far and wide.
Then in 1972 the chip wagon was re-located on the McCann property to continue to serve customers while a new permanent building was erected. The original building as shown above has been remodelled since then, but people still enjoy the same old fashioned home made taste and friendly, family service at McCann's Chips!
Paying close attention to detail, cleanliness and ensuring no compromise in freshness and taste, a true testament to this comes in the news that only within the last
few years came time to replace the deep fryers from which french fries, egg rolls, chicken, pogo sticks, etc. have been cooked for 35-plus years!! The cooking oil has always been changed frequently and regularly, and likewise the fryers have been thoroughly cleaned. Only a part was needed, but was unavailable because of the age of the appliance. The only way to repair was to replace!
The menu has expanded over the years and the business has employed countless people of all ages helping to put Quyon on the map with
the tradition of serving great food to residents and tourists.
